Levy the Social Security payroll tax on one's entire wages, rather than only the first hundred thousand per year. Restore it to its former rate.

No special treatment of income derived from capital gains. It's not fair that people who work hard for their money have to pay income tax at a higher rate than someone who sat on some stock for at least a year and a day and just got lucky.

Those are two simple changes that perhaps could bring the budget to balance. We are spending 863 billion a year on military, including the 200 billion just for Iraq and Afgahnistan.

China, who is second in spending, is at 98 billion.

UK, who is third, is at 69 billion.

Our first possible enemy on the list is Iran, at 24th place, is spending 9 billion a year.

We need to bring ALL troops around the world home, and cut back to UK level of spending.

Search for "military spending by country".

The UK just cut there military budget by 19 billion, because they can not afford it anymore. Instead of 69 billion, they are down to 50 billion.

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
Hermann Goering quote

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Joseph Goebbels quote
