Destroying The Evidence






 
The Bodies Were Cremated Within Five Hours

Wednesday, July 21, 1999
10:30 a.m.
Navy divers positively identify the three bodies, which were all located in and near the fuselage. 
4:30 p.m.
The bodies are brought to the surface.
7:15 p.m.
The bodies are taken to Barnstable County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

The bodies are taken to Barnstable County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.
 

Thursday, July 22, 1999
9 a.m.
Members of the Kennedy and Bessette families carry the cremated remains of John F. Kennedy Jr., Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Lauren Bessette onto the USS Briscoe, a Navy destroyer. The ashes are scattered at sea off Martha's Vineyard.
